Trzytygodniowa intensywna rezydencja artystyczna, podczas której zespół artystyczny projektu będzie współpracował z lokalnymi artystami nad stworzeniem spektaklu teatralnego „2084” oraz nad przygotowaniem wystawy sztuki. Praca artystyczna będzie skupiona na tematach zmian klimatycznych, zrównoważonego rozwoju oraz świadomości ekologicznej. Rezydencja zakończy się premierą spektaklu teatralnego oraz otwarciem wystawy. Zmiany klimatyczne są globalnym problemem, który wykracza poza indywidualne, regionalne, kulturowe i narodowe granice. “The 2084 Project” ma na celu wykorzystanie przemiany siły sztuki do wywołania zmian społecznych, przybliżając wizję Europy w roku 2084, radykalnie dotkniętej zmianami klimatycznymi i związanymi z nimi zagrożeniami.
“The 2084 Project” ma na celu promowanie zrównoważonego tworzenia w dziedzinie sztuk performatywnych poprzez międzynarodową współpracę z partnerami z Węgier, Francji i Polski. Naszym głównym celem jest stworzenie podstaw dla zrównoważonych praktyk artystycznych, koncentrując się na tworzeniu produkcji, które powstają w sposób odpowiedzialny dla środowiska, mogąc stanowić wzór dla przyszłych twórców.
Koncepcja spektaklu
Gdzieś na planecie zwanej Ziemią, na jakimś oceanie, gdzieś około 2084 roku.
Ci, którzy zostali zmuszeni do ucieczki z powodu różnych skutków zmian klimatycznych, podróżują tratwą złożoną z kopców plastikowych odpadów. Niektórzy mieli zniszczone domy przez klęski żywiołowe, inni mieli nie do zniesienia warunki pogodowe w swoim kraju, a niektórzy uciekają przed wojną. Oni, garstka, stanowią populację Ziemi. Pozostali. Ci, którzy przetrwali. Na razie.
Uciekli z różnych obszarów, aby znaleźć nowy dom. Albo przynajmniej bezpieczeństwo. Albo przynajmniej chwilę spokoju. Są tutaj z różnych stron, wielcy, mali, biali, czarni, pulchni, szczupli, owłosieni, nagie. W normalnych okolicznościach nie zwracaliby na siebie uwagi. Być może byliby wrogami. Ale teraz muszą trzymać się razem. Są od siebie zależni, jakkolwiek by różni nie byli. Mają wspólny cel: przetrwanie.

Są wszyscy Zwierzętami.
Oni już umarli, zniknęli, uciekli na inną planetę, albo kto wie gdzie. Ocaleni są jak mieszkańcy Arki Noego XXI wieku – ale brakuje im pewności, że kiedykolwiek zobaczą ląd i będą mogli zacząć nowe życie
Czy możliwe jest pozostanie zwierzęciem w zdehumanizowanym świecie? Czy po zniszczeniu planety przez ludzkość zostawiła ona jakiś ślad (łapę) na wciąż zamieszkałej ziemi? I czy strach, egoizm i żądza władzy zdołały przedostać się do serc zwierząt, czy jest jeszcze nadzieja na nowy początek, na nadejście Złotego Wieku po Potopie XXI wieku?
2084 jest w założeniu działaniem niewerbalnym, opartym na ruchu fizycznym. Nawiązuje do powieści George’a Orwella (1984). Bada prawdopodobne konsekwencje zmian społecznych i środowiskowych w XXI wieku oraz opowiada fikcyjną, utopijną i symboliczną historię ludzkości w 2084 roku. Historia przedstawienia jest inspirowana polską sztuką, „Na pełnym morzu” Sławomira Mrożka. Podobnie jak w biblijnej historii Arki Noego, grupa archetypalnych zwierząt, przedstawionych jako uchodźcy, dotknięta różnymi problemami spowodowanymi zmianami klimatycznymi, podróżuje na tratwie z plastikowych śmieci na otwartym morzu w roku 2084.

Who
Ladder Art Company (Hungary), La Transplanisphere (France) and HYBADU Association (Poland) invite you to “The 2084 Project”.
What
Three-week-long intensive artistic residency during which the project’s artistic team will collaborate with local artists on the creation of the “2084” theatre performance and fine arts exhibition. All the artistic work will focus on the themes of climate change, sustainability, and environmental consciousness. The residency will result in the premiere of the theater performance and the opening of the exhibition, with possible future representations. Join us in making a lasting impression and inspiring change!
Who are we looking for
• performers specializing in physical and movement-based theater
• musicians: classical pianists and voice artists
• costume-set designers
• fine artists
What do we offer
• fee for artists, ensuring their valuable work is fairly compensated (1100 zł gross/week, contract of mandate)
• accommodation (for those who need) and food during the residency
• close collaboration with our international artistic team – rich exchange of artistic creation knowledge and good practices
• after the premiere, the performance will be able to stay within the local context, planned to be played long-term nationally as well as internationally

About the project
Climate change is a global issue that goes beyond individual, regional, cultural, and national borders. The 2084 project aims to harness the transformative power of arts to drive societal change by envisioning Europe in the year 2084, radically affected by climate change and related threats.
The 2084 project aims to foster sustainable creation in the field of performing arts through an international collaboration involving partners from Hungary, France, and Poland. Our main objective is to lay the groundwork for sustainable performing art practices, focusing on creating productions, with climate change as a subject, that arise environmentally responsible and can serve as a model for future creators committed to sustainability.
Concept of the performance
Somewhere on a planet called Earth, in some ocean, sometime around 2084.
Those who have been forced to flee due to the various effects of climate change are traveling on a raft made of piles of plastic garbage. Some have had their homes destroyed by natural disasters, others have had unbearable weather in their country, and some are fleeing war. They, a handful, are the population of the Earth. The rest. Who survived. For now.
They fled from different areas to find a new home. Or at least safety. Or at least a minute of peace. There are from all over here, big, small, white, black, chubby, thin, hairy, bare. Under normal circumstances, they would not pay attention to each other. Maybe they would be each other’s enemies. But now they have to hold it together. They are depending on each other, however different they may be. They have a common cause: survival.
And…
They are all Animals.
The humans? They have already died, disappeared, fled to another planet, or who knows where. The survivors are like the inhabitants of a 21st-century Arc of Noah – but they lack the certainty that they will see land one day and can start a new life.
Is it possible to remain an animal in the dehumanized world? After humanity destroyed the planet, did they leave behind a foot (paw) of habitable land? And did fear, selfishness, and lust for power manage to seep into the hearts of animals, or is there still hope for a new beginning, for the arrival of the Golden Age after the Flood of the 21st century?
2084 is visioned as a nonverbal, movement-based, physical, and visual theater performance. Referring to George Orwell’s novel (1984). It explores the likely consequences of social and environmental change in the 21st century and tells a fictional, utopistic, and symbolic story of humanity in 2084.
The story of the performance is inspired by a Polish drama, Out at Sea (Na pełnym morzu) by Sławomir Mrożek. As in the biblical story of the Arc of Noah, a group of archetypal animals as refugees from various problems caused by climate change are traveling on a raft of plastic rubbish at the open sea in the year 2084.
